A Visit to the Paris Christmas Markets

Europeans overdose on the Christmas spirit and I love it. The Christmas Markets in Paris are delightfully festive all over town. My favourite was the the Marche de Noel du Mail Branly, underneath the Eiffel Tower. Such a gorgeous sight! We left Australia on Christmas Day but I didn’t miss out on any festivities because Europe clings on to the Christmas season and carries it all the way to mid-January. In Australia the Christmas period ends so abruptly as we switch to New Years, and then back to school, etc. Before you know it, it’s Australia Day and then it’s Easter. It’s really nice to have the Christmas magic linger a little longer.

  1. Hi there Genevieve! I stumbled upon your journal here after reading your choco-licious post on TEQ blog, and it didn’t take long for me to discover that we have so much in common. I worked with Shelley in Publicity at TEQ for four months, live and breathe the sun loving culture in Southeast Queensland and also a self-proclaimed Francophile! I think we were both at the Christmas market at Trocadero last Christmas and took a similar shot under the twinkling Tour Eiffel (check out my IG pic here: http://instagram.com/p/Tq8r72sbc0/), what a sweet coincidence! 🙂 Looks like I’ll be following your footsteps around in Brisbane to the wonderful gourmet spots as you stumble across them.. Stay awesome x Juliet

    1. Hi Juliet – thanks so much for stopping by! Wow what a small world!! How beautiful were the Christmas markets, I felt so lucky to see them. Sorry for the slow reply, I’m actually traveling at the moment but will be back sniffing out the best of the Brisbane foodie trail in late Sept! Xx Genevieve
