The Yarra Valley is one of Australia’s best wine regions, and is an easy day trip from Melbourne. The Yarra Valley is one of the most popular regional areas of Victoria, and is home to dozens of wineries and cellar doors. My favourite wineries in the region are Dominique Portet, Coombe Estate, De Bortoli, Tokar Estate and Tarra Warra Estate, but there are so many more I still want to try! The Yarra Valley can be tackled in a few sections: Coldstream, Healesville, Yarra Glen and Seville, with the greatest concentration of wineries around Coldstream. The Yarra Valley makes a great day trip or weekend destination pretty much year-round, and there are plenty of tour companies operating in the area to take the hassle out of getting around.
