Queenstown was our final stop in New Zealand. Despite driving through gorgeous Kiwi countryside for the past week, the stunning town still blew us away. Built around the picturesque Lake Wakatipu with The Remarkables mountain range in the background, the town is drenched in natural beauty. Like many towns in New Zealand, the small city centre was dotted with quaint shops and felt as if it was trapped in a time warp. The streets were quiet and the pace of life was slow. Lake Wakatipu was very still and for the first time I saw the real beauty of lakes. I’m used to seeing rivers and oceans that are always in a hurry, but the lake barely moved and in partnership with the immovable mountains, anchored a sense of calm in the town.I think it would be hard to rush when surrounded by so much natural beauty that stands the test of time, refusing to change on a whim like modern cities do.
My fave part of Queenie-town is that they named the mountain “Bob’s” ;o)
how gorgeous! i’m sure the pictures don’t even do it justice. looks amazing 🙂
