UPDATE: This post has been updated with useful information about where to find the best gelato in France, Italy & Greece, here.
Forget your daily bread, in France & Italy it was all about the daily gelato for us! From fruity to creamy to organic, we put as much as we could to a taste test. It took our mind’s off our blistered feet, cheered us up when we missed the ferry to St Tropez, cured my nauseous stomach and made us both fall head over heels for the simple apricot.

I;m sooo jealous! Gelato is my absolute favorite! There’s a nice little place down the street from me and I go there at least once a week…even in the winter haha. My dream is to have gelato in Italy though.
It’s delicious 🙂 I remember the ice cream in Avignon being pretty spectacular too though! You’re lucky it’s close by – although It’s probably a good thing there are a few giant hills between my house and the nearest gelataria!
haha you’re funny! We actually have quite a few gelato places here. Lots of Italians in Toronto! Over the past two years, I’ve noticed more and more little places pop up all over the city. My current favourite flavour is the Amaretto.
