Sifnos is a tiny island in the Cyclades that flies under the radar, because it’s larger neighbours Paros and Milos are more popular. Sifnos has a dreamlike quality and a slow pace, outside the slightly busier beach resorts at Vathy and Platis Gialis, and the port, Kamares.
We stayed in Apollonia, Sifno’s capital, which is perched high up in the hills. Sifnos is popular with hikers and climbers, thanks to its rugged, mountainous terrain, as well as foodies, as it’s the birthplace of Greece’s most famous chef and cookbook author, Nikolaos Tselementes.
Cheronissos is a remote beach and harbour on the northern tip of Sifnos, a tiny Cycladic island between Paros and Milos.
