Rugged, windswept Milos is home to the best beaches in the Aegean, with more than 70 beaches dotting the coastline of the island. Milos is part of the Cyclades island group in Greece, and is one of the best destinations in Greece for beach-hopping and beautiful traditional Cycladic villages.
I spent five days in Milos and was glad for the extra time – Milos is a large island, with so many amazing things to do.
Getting to Milos
You can fly directly to Milos from Athens, which leaves you less at the mercy of rough seas and the unreliable ferry schedule.
Getting around Milos
Milos is a very large island, so you’ll want to hire a car to get the most out of your stay. The eastern half of the island has paved roads, the western half of the island is accessible only by 4WD. There is so much to see on the eastern half of Milos, you’ll have plenty to keep you occupied!
