Paris is a tough place to find decent accommodation on a budget, but now that I’ve found Hotel Eiffel Segur, I never have to worry again!
Location
The hotel is in Montparnasse, my favourite suburb in Paris to stay in. It’s a beautiful neighbourhood that isn’t too touristy but is in a great location for exploring the Left Bank. It’s not far from the Eiffel Tower, L’Hotel des Invalides and Tour Montparnasse (view pictured above), which has stunning views over Paris at night.
We were only a few blocks from the Segur Markets and the hotel just a few small blocks from a Metro stop ( Cambronne) and the Segur metro stop was also close by, giving us a few options for metro routes. The street is quiet and there is a great boulangerie just down the road, where we had breakfast every day. Montparnasse is a lively area rarely explored by tourists, which makes it perfect for an aimless stroll and experiencing everyday Parisian life without the tourist crowds.
Room & Rates
Our room had a lot of natural light from the window and was very clean and modern. While it wasn’t an enormous room, we had enough space for the two of us. The bathroom was small but clean and there was also a desk, a nice addition for preparing any food we brought back to the apartment and having a little space to write. The free Wi-Fi was flawless, which earned big brownie points in my books! I was really happy with our room and have no complaints. There are a few stairs between the elevator and the rooms, but they weren’t too much trouble.
We paid around 100 euros per night in August, which was right on our budget of 50 euro per night per person. I’ve just checked their website for August this year, and you can get rooms for as little as 79 euro per night, which is great for a lovely three star hotel in this location.
Staff
The staff are very friendly and were more than happy to provide us with any information we needed. They went out of their way to make sure we had an enjoyable stay and communication via email prior to our trip was easy.
Verdict
I can’t wait to return to Paris and will definitely stay here again! Finding accommodation in Paris is very annoying, and now it’s a no-brainer. I recommend this hotel to my friends all the time. If you have bad knees or have mobility issues, just ask for the room on ground level, accessible via a pretty little courtyard. The’ve also recently refurbished a room so that it facilitates guests in wheelchairs.
