Hudson Valley

Welcome! The Wanderbug is an AI-free zone, written for humans, by a human (Genevieve!).  I write all content myself, based on my own, real, travel experiences.

Planning your first trip to the Hudson Valley? Start with my Hudson Valley Travel Guide .

The Hudson Valley is one of the most beautiful regions in the state of New York. Easily accessible via train from New York City, the Hudson Valley is a perfect weekend getaway destination.

While we lived in New York City, we made multiple trips to the Hudson Valley, whether it was for apple picking in the fall, exploring Hudson, Beacon and Cold Spring in summer or simply getting out of the city for a day in winter. It’s one of my favourite regions in the USA.

I acknowledge the Wappinger, Mohican and Lenape peoples as the First Nations owners of the lands now recognised as Beacon and Cold Spring. I pay respect to their Elders, lores, customs and creation spirits. I recognise that these lands have always been places of great natural beauty, culture and community.
