Postcards from Albert Park, Melbourne

It’s not just Melbourne‘s city that’s bursting at the seams with interesting architecture. On the weekend, I went for lunch at Nyshry, a Japanese-inspired cafe overlooking the water on South Melbourne Beach. Afterwards, I went for a walk through the leafy, pastel-hued streets of Albert Park.

Albert Park is a wealthy residential neighbourhood with a handful of cute cafes, eclectic homewares stores and boutiques. There are footballers and their Instagram-famous wives, nannies pushing strollers and mums in puffer jackets. Oh, and lots of proud pooches strolling haughtily down the street in colourful booties and designer coats to protect them from the winter chill.

I acknowledge the Boon Wurrung and Woiwurrung people as the First Nations owners of the lands now recognised as Melbourne. I pay respect to their Elders, lores, customs and creation spirits. I recognise that these lands have always been places of great natural beauty, culture and community.
