Welcome to The Wanderbug, a travel blog written for humans, by a human. I'm Genevieve, and every guide is personally written by me and based on my firsthand travel experiences.
South Coast NSW is one of the best-kept secrets in Australia, and a spectacular destination for a coastal road trip. Starting south of Sydney, more than 400km of beautiful coastline stretches along the New South Wales coastline, from the Shoalhaven region in the north, all the way to the New South Wales-Victorian border in the south. Notable regions of South Coast NSW include the Sapphire Coast, Shoalhaven, Jervis Bay and Eurobodalla.
Merimbula, Narooma and Kiama are some of the best beach towns to visit, but that’s just to name a few!
I’ve driven the entire length of the New South Wales coastline, and South Coast NSW was my favourite part! The beach towns are quieter, the water is pristine and you’ll have some of the best oysters in Australia at your finger tips, along the oyster coast.
The Wanderbug acknowledges the Yuin Nation, including the Walbunja, Dhurga, Tharawal, Djiringanj, Murramarang and Bidawal peoples, as the First Nations owners of the lands now recognised as South Coast NSW. I pay respect to their Elders past, present and emerging, and recognise that these lands have always been places of culture and community.
